Getting Here

Navigation
Silva Bay is one of the most protected, yet accessible harbours in Canada's Pacific waters. It is ideally situated for boaters traveling through the Gulf Islands, north to Desolation Sound, or south to the San Juan Islands. Use Chart 3475 or 3443.

Entering Silva Bay
Please review your charts before entering Silva Bay. When entering from Commodore Passage, give the beacon that marks Shipyard Rock a wide berth to port. Continue halfway to Law Point before turning into the bay.

By Ferries
A wonderful way of experiencing true island life and its natural beauty, is by travelling by ferry. BC Ferries has regularly scheduled, year round service to Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay, just north of Vancouver or Tsawwassen, 30 miles south of Vancouver and just north of the BC/Washington State border. The Gabriola ferry terminal is a few short miles south of the Vancouver Island ferry terminal at Departure Bay in Nanaimo, and just north of the Duke Point terminal. For ferry schedules and reservations visit www.bcferries.com or call 1-250-386-3431 outside BC or 1-888-223-3779 within BC.

By Car
Once on the island, Silva Bay is a quick 15-minute drive along the North or South Road. To see our little "City Centre" take North Rd. For the Scenic route with ocean views take South Rd.
